Dr Richmond Toritsegbogwa MacGrey was born in Sapele, Delta State of Nigeria to Itsekiri parent. After his secondary education in the early 70's, he worked briefly as an Administrative Officer with United African Company (UAC) before leaving to pursuing his passion for Disc Jockeying. Between 1974 and 1987: He won Best Bendel-State Disc Jockey Championship. Came third at the All Nigerian National Disc Jockey Competition. He was the first Disc Jockey to operate one of the largest disco equipment in Africa (at the time there were only four of it's brand in the entire world). He was the first African DJ to be published in the British library. Nigeria's representative at Africa's DJ Competition in Ghana and World DJ competition in the USA. In early 1988, Dr Richmond MacGrey travelled to England to further his studies. He qualified in Business Management and Administration, Entertainment Law and Practice, Sales and Marketing Management, Personnel Management and Industrial Relations. Pioneer editor of “That's Entertainment” a journal of the Society of Licensing Practitioners UK. First and only black - Fellow Society of Licensing Practitioners UK. First and only black - Fellow Institute of Licensing UK. Fellow Institute of Commercial Managers and Administrators. Fellow Institute of Professtional Managers & Administrators, UK. In 2010, Dr MacGrey was honoured by Mboho Akwa Ibom State (the umbrella body for Akwa-Ibom State citizens in Europe) for His Outstanding Contributions to the Fulfilment of Goals and Objectives of the State. He is also an international model and a Patron of numerous social, cultural and philanthropic organisations across the world. Dr MacGrey has been decorated with numerous international award for philanthropy. |
